Zion National Park -- Sept. '03

Oh, jump to the next weekend -- now I'm in Zion National Park, and this is Angel's Landing, the first thing I climbed when I got there!
This is a part of "Walter's Wiggles," a set of switchbacks on the trail to Angel's Landing that apparently was quite an engineering feat to construct...
Nearing the top of Angel's Landing -- this is a scramble up a knife-edge ridge where they've placed chains to help you climb... Nowhere near as scary as Halfdome if you ask me!
The view downcanyon from the top of Angel's Landing
Looking down at part of the Angel's Landing trail on my way down.
My shadow along the Riverside Walk -- heading into the Narrows!
Someone was nice enough to take my picture at the end of Riverside Walk
Also right at the bottom of the Narrows hike
Water seemed to seep from the walls in places
Caught some people silhouetted in there so you could see the scale (this still doesn't really capture it!)
More of the Narrows
Here I am! (same spot as the last picture)
There are a couple little people in this one too
Just inside the entrance to Orderville Canyon (a side canyon tributary to the Virgin River), looking out at the main canyon
That same weekend I stopped at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to look around for just a few hours on my way home from Zion -- here's something I saw at the visitor center.
I think this was called Angel's Window?
