Summer '04 events/hikes

A few pictures from various activities this summer:  I did a lot of hiking (in training-mode for Nepal!), enjoyed a nice visit from my brother and his girlfriend, went to Heather and Evan's wedding (where you'll notice I skillfully avoided having my picture taken in the bridesmaid's dress <g>), visited some friends in Washington, and did more hiking...

Here's Cathy, I think this was along the Salmon Butte trail.
Kim, me, Julie, Kevin, and Bob, at the top of something, I think the Devil's Peak Lookout.
Jeff and Kim (different Kim) came out to visit, and I dragged them up to Mt. St. Helens on a cloudy day... Here they are listening attentively to a ranger talk about the eruption.
This was the best view of the mountain we got though!
Digitalis!  Seen along the Hummocks Trail hike.
My little brother and his little girlfriend! Aren't they cute??
They just keep getting cuter...
Here they are by Wahclela falls.  (I'm sure I spelled that wrong!)
Okay, next event of the summer: we're getting Heather's hair ready for her wedding!
More time for Heather's hair.

getting everything just right...
The bride and groom.

Hiking up to McNeil Point with Bob. This was the first of a few trips up that trail this year!
Wildflowers along the trail up to McNeil Point -- I think at this point we were along the Timberline Trail.
I have no idea what these were, but they were all over the place and very fragrant, smelled like something familiar...
If anyone can tell me what they are, great -- we just called them Dr. Seuss flowers.
A few very minor snowfields...
Cathedral Ridge, up to the summit of Mt. Hood.
Me at the top of the hike.
Bob at the top of the hike!
These are perhaps even more Dr. Seuss-like!
Next trip. Heading up Mt. St. Helens with Bob and Alice.
A chipmunk followed us for a little bit -- he was fearless! Crawled into Alice's backpack even! (Wish I'd caught that on film...)
Me and Alice resting along the way.
Woohoo! Bob looks like he might make it!
Yup, making it to the top.
Alice's summit picture.

Bob's summit picture
My summit picture!
I've probably got another of these somewhere (from the climb 2 years ago maybe?)
Next trip. Went up to Moses Lake to see Adine, Kathryn, and their 3-year old Gwen! Here's their house on the lake.
